Before the Egyptian revolution started in 2011 because of the thirty years long corruption of the royal family, Mubarak family, Gamal Mubarak, Mubarak’s son, was expected to succeed his father as Egypt’s next president by inheriting power in the 2000s; which was illegal. Gamal received the attention of the Egyptian media because there was clearly no other heir to the presidency. In June 2000, a few hours after Hafez al-Assad’s death, Bashar al-Assad came to power in Syria, which triggered the Egyptian media on the prospects of similar situations in Cairo.
This video-editing is a tribute to Succession's intro with the similarity between the Roy and the Mubarak families that I showed in this intro.
