Hi there, My name is Stuart and I try to practice an instrument for five to ten minutes each day. To give the practice meaning, I work towards recording a song, usually completing a new one every few months. I purchase a distribution licence for all covers before uploading to Youtube to keep it legal, so any downloads from the above links go towards covering the cost.
My recording setup: I use Linux computers, with all free and open source software including Jack, Ardour, Calf Plugins, Fast Lookahead Limiter.
In addition, DrumGizmo (https://www.drumgizmo.org/wiki/doku.php) for drums.
Guitarix for Amp simulators.
And Aeolus (http://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linuxaudio/aeolus/index.html) by Fons Adriaensen for Pipe Organ Emulator (synthesized, not sampled).
Also, I use a midi keyboard to play triggered samples of instruments such as a Steinway Grand Piano, and a 1720 Blanchet Harpsichord and various others from time to time.
I also use a single Rode K2 Microphone, Shure SM57, and a Zoom H4n for recording all acoustic instruments.
