From humble origins in Detroit, raised on a healthy diet of Motown, Jazz, and Early Hip‐Hop -- Terrel Wallace (aka Tall Black Guy) has been consistently building a massive online following through a steady stream of productions filled with incredibly clever sample flips and deft production chops ‐ being championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson (who included him on one of the latest Brownswood Bubblers albums), Lefto, Anthony Valadez, and countless others ‐ as well as recently being named the winner of the Robert Glasper Remix competition. With the tangible beginnings of worldwide recognition, Tall Black Guy has established himself to be one of the most influential producers from Chicago.

Here's another special mix edition in acknowledgement and recognition of such a brilliant artist in the hip-hop scene, who's music features regularly in my mixes. I first got introduced and then hooked on TBG's sounds two years ago and it has paved the way for my love of instrumental, jazzy and soulful hip-hop.
