Description
“Teddy Bear’s Picnic” - Composed by Jimmy Kennedy and John Walter Bratton - Performed by Henry Hall & His Orchestra, released November 1932.
Played on Columbia Viva-Tonal Grafonola 112A using Frankensprung Meltrope II reproducer and Burmese Colour Needles Thorn needle (Black, Fine).
If you go looking on shelves today
you may be a bit surprised,
There’s odds and ends of cracked discs to play if you’re of determined mind,
For every snap and crackle and pop,
(Oh Kellogg’s will sue so there I will stop)
Could find a way to get glued and played this tueeeeeeeesday....
Advanced puppeteering courtesy of the octogenarian.
Had a few minutes and am testing the Frankensprung to see how it compliments the horn on the 112a Columbia (the horn tends to be a little flattening and the soundbox a little bright on an HMV 102) so thought I’d pair them up and see the result. It’s actually quite good. Not that you can tell from this recording - which is just a giggle for the sake of it.
Carry on.
