So...several years ago I happened onto a story written about a place near Natchez, Mississippi called the Devils Punchbowl. I had never ever heard of this place or what happened there, which pisses me off, because so much of our nations true history has been deliberately skewed, misrepresented and whitewashed in our present educational system. But anyway, please look it up. It's not pretty. This event has been on my mind ever since reading the story, and I've been working on this particular song for at least 2-3 years, off and on. I have definitely wrestled with even putting this out there. It is not a feel great song, that is for sure. But I had to make it for some reason. I just hope it moves everyone the way it has me.
