Description
Note! drones locking approximately at 0:42 seconds and until the end.
The pipes are duplicated so exactly that McCallum reproduce the slightly different sizes of the top sections of the tenor drones, since they are a feature of Liddell’s instrument.
"Phase locking" drones: this is a comfortable thing but not strictly necessary as long as the instrument is tuned. This often requires a divergence in the 2 tenor drones that may have occurred due to difference in the hand tool during manufacture. The prerequisite is a careful treatment of the instrument as a whole and blowing in particular. Easiest way is not to take the bag down while playing and tune all the drones at the same time and like pushing them into place. Everything has to vibrate - the bag, the chanter, the stocks - and yourself.
During practice - do not take the bag down and keep the pressure 100% even if you play a mistake.
