Ecco La Primavera is an anthology of songs from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, some of them stretching back as far as the 14th century. It was recorded in 1996 by a Perth-based acappella quartet named Primavera.

Primavera are:

Lucy Brennan-Jones – Soprano
Sally Storie – Alto
Alexander Platts – Tenor
Stuart Price – Baritone

I was surprisingly able to find two photographs of the group, taken by our local newspaper’s photographers in what looks like the grounds of the University of Western Australia.

When I was a boy, around Christmastime, my sister took me into the city on the train and we did some shopping. Primavera were singing Christmas carols in Myer and we saw their performance, and returned several times on subsequent days to see them again. On the third time, I insisted my parents come as well – and for good reason, Primavera were very good. That’s when we bought this album, and the group kindly signed it for me.
