When is a journey really over?

During our life spans we set hundreds, maybe thousands of goals for ouselves. A daily challenge, a mission for the month, a resolution for a year. We pass all the little checkpoints and crossroads everytime we reach a goal, yet the journey's end is never to be seen.

When is it really over?

We push ourselves to the next goal, the next thing to do, to experience, to accomplish. A longer road towards an even further destination.
They say the journey itself is the destination, but isn't it a little sad that we can't actually 'arrive'?

'The Journey's End' is a song I composed after reading japanese poems written by poets on the verge of death, strangely content with their achievements and at peace with 'finally having arrived somewhere'. It's a depressing thought to think that for most of us the journey ends with the last day of our lives, with no time left to enjoy our final stay. But it taught me one important thing: the journey ends once we're brave and ready enough to let it end.

Arriving is a decision. It will always be up to us.
