When I was growing up, "The Little Drummer Boy" Movie by #JulesBass and #ArthurRankin was my favourite Christmas show. Every year it would come on TV, I would hunker down with the family and watch the show. That is, unless the Toronto Maple Leafs were playing that night. Grandpa lived with us, and he owned the TV.

Funny story, when I was 2 years old, someone in my family, bought me a snare drum for Christmas. It hung around my neck, and I would walk up and down the halls banging on that drum. I have this clear memory of my Mother saying "one day we'll get even with them". Even back then I dreamed about one day playing for Jesus.

My Mom was a Saint. She put up with noise like no other woman. From the time I was about 17, into my mid-twenties she put up with a Gospel Rock Band practicing in her basement every Tuesday night, and storing all our equipment in her garage. I can remember her saying her and Dad sometimes had to hold the dishes down in the china cabinet to save them.

This song reminds us of the reason for Christmas. We exchange gifts in honour of the Greatest Gift of All.
