The national anthem of the United States, as recorded by the United States Navy Band, and featuring photographs of America's Navy. DoD Instruction 1005.4 states that "The U.S. Navy arrangements of 'The Star-Spangled Banner,' and foreign national anthems. . .are designated as the official DoD arrangements to be rendered by all Service bands on appropriate occasions."
"The Star-Spangled Banner" was recognized for official use by the Navy in 1889, and made the official national anthem on March 3, 1931, by a congressional resolution.
