Description
The song Mr. Brightside by The Killers was released in 2004 as the debut single from their first studio album, Hot Fuss. Written by band members Brandon Flowers and Dave Keuning, it was one of the first songs the Killers ever wrote. It depicts a true story of Flowers' jealousy and paranoia. Waking from his sleep one night, Flowers had a gut feeling that his girlfriend was seeing someone else, then headed to a local Las Vegas pub, and saw it for himself. Mr Brightside set a new chart record, spending over five years in the UK's Top 100. and becoming the third most streamed song on Spotify from the 2000s. Two music videos were made for the song, the first one was shot in black and white with the band performing in an empty room and the second one was based on the 2001 film, Moulin Rouge.
