The nationwide rallies come ahead of a referendum later this year that seeks to establish an advisory body called the Indigenous Voice to Parliament. The body will give the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people a direct say in policies that affect them. Yes23, which organized these rallies, said nearly 3,000 people turned up to attend the event in Sydney’s Prince Alfred Park.
