The Awa Odori Festival in Tokushima is a celebration of dance, culture, and history that dates back over 400 years. 


Every mid-August, skilled dance troupes, known as “ren,” take over the streets, mesmerizing spectators with their synchronized moves and traditional music. The festival’s rhythm is driven by traditional Japanese instruments like taiko drums, shamisen, and flutes, which create an unforgettable musical backdrop.
