Description
The tenth storm of the Atlantic season and eighteenth of the Pacific, Julia was a deadly tropical cyclone that affected much of Latin and Central America, with Julia making 2 landfalls on Nicaragua and Guatemala. Venezuela suffered greatly with this storm, with over 50 deaths being attributed to the cyclone, while there were over 10 in El Salvador and Guatemala as well.
With Julia having crossed over, it is the first time an Atlantic season has had 2 storms cross basins with tropical storm strength being retained. Julia is also now the 2nd deadliest storm of the Atlantic season, behind Ian.
