Well the roads have been covered in snow and ice for the past 5 days here in Nashville, so here’s a cover of some music that I associate with warmer weather. I’ve been working on samba drum set ideas for the past month or so, and I really like playing along to Adoniran Barbosa. The percussion is really clear in the mix and I just love his melodies. This particular song, Trem Das Onze (The 11 P.M. Train), aside from being his most famous song, also has plenty of surdo variations to try to replicate with the bass drum. If any Brazilians out there want to tell this gringo how it’s actually done, please do. 😉
