Songs are like People - I see them as alive and ever changing - Going way beyond one static recording . I love watching the way a song shape shifts depending on who is in the audience or which fingers play the chords and with their own unique emotion. For this reason I love remixes - it’s not about improving something , it’s more about reinterpreting and having fun with it .
I love how Unwritten has become so personal to people . I hear so many stories of what it means to people and each one is so different.
We just did a remix to celebrate how this song has taken on a life of its own and put it up for you to move to if the spirit moves you . And now here I am , on the same day it was released, in the woods singing a completely different rendition with my baby on my lap and at a couple moments adding his own little Tones.
