The piece is written by one of the most sought-after American composers of this generation, Daniel Elder, whose music continuously captivates choral lovers from around the world with his deeply-moving and captivating work. His setting of "Ave Maria" explores a flowing texture that wraps itself around and through the Latin text. From the falling beginning to a darker liquid texture in the middle, a sense of abstract color pervades this work.
