This is my piano arrangement of Valse de Bamboula by Eduard ‘Bamboula’ Ferret. I was immensely inspired by its renditions by Angelo Debarre, and Mozes Rosenberg (and their respective trios) to arrange it. This is my little way of giving back to the wonderful world of Gypsy Jazz and somehow connecting with it from behind the piano.

You may notice an overall air of Liszt-ian ‘flamboyance’, a slice of Bach, and a bit of jazz somewhere. Coming from a Classical Piano discipline, this was my take on making the arrangement a fair transfer from the virtuosic Gypsy Guitar to the piano, mainly because there’s not much reference when it comes to Gypsy/Manouche Piano.
