1. Lullaby is one of Brahms's most popular songs. It's originally for vocal and song.
2. The lullaby was first performed in public on 22 December 1869 in Vienna by Luise Dustmann (singer) and Clara Schumann (piano) who's the wife of composer Robert Schumann.
3. In 1877, Brahms based the second theme of the first movement of his Second Symphony on this lullaby's tune and it developed throughout the whole movement.
4. There's a speculation that Brahms suffered from a sleep disorder known as sleep apnea. It could be part of his inspiration for composing "Wiegenlied" (Lullaby)
