February 2020, 5am…myself and Scott (Mulvahill) sat sharing the piano bench, voice recorder on, song in process. Someday I might share this voice note, as it is a beautiful reminder of the silliness that goes into writing even “serious” songs. We both felt the heaviness of the world, but also the lightness of friendship. That is maybe the core of this song—the belief in the goodness of people. When we were in the studio, the song called for something soft to weave the song around. Alan Scobie from Skerryvore answered that call so beautifully, laying down the kindest Rhodes I’ve ever heard. - David Howley
