[Take note of drumming by Billy Griffin on this track. We're A Winner was released 2 years prior to "Amen, Brother" by The Winstons. "Amen, Brother" is based on the gospel song "Amen" and a guitar riff Curtis Mayfield played for Richard Lewis Spencer, band leader of The Winstons. I would imagine, the drumming on "Amen, Brother", performed by Gregory Coleman was, at least in part, inspired by the opening drum lead-in performed by Billy Griffin on We're A Winner. Gregory Coleman also previously recorded with Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions.
Listening to We're A Winner, you almost get the feeling Gregory Coleman may have been the one behind the kit on that particular track. Gregory Coleman passed in 2006, Curtis Mayfield passed in 1999... the only living person who may know the answer to that question would be Johnny Pate.]
